Our name
The name of the organization reflects our belief that we are all citizens of the Earth and share the responsibility as its stewards for the well-being and continuity of our planet and all the life forms on it.
Sharing this idea and starting to create changes by applying it to our daily life are the essence of the Earth Citizen Movement.
Origin
The seed of the Earth Citizen Movement was planted by one person when he started teaching exercise at a public park in South Korea 30 years ago. Ilchi lee, believing that hope for a better world lies in awakening the greatness in human nature, has dedicated his life to create positive changes in their lives and communities. It was through this dedication and spirit that ECO was created.
Our Future
New Zealand Earth Citizens Organisation (ECO) is committed to nurturing future leaders who will guide our world toward a more sustainable and harmonious future.
We envision the Earth Citizen School—not a traditional school, but a new kind of learning community where emerging leaders come together to deepen their understanding of the Earth. Here, they will explore the true value of nature, the interconnectedness of all life, and the principles of living in harmony with the planet and one another. Through this school, we aim to cultivate leaders with integrity, respect for life, and a profound sense of responsibility—leaders who will shape a better future for the Earth and humanity.
